Take a ponder…

I have lots of things going on and lots of things on my mind, but never enough time to blog about them!  So since my uterus has decided to attack the rest of my body and has me stuck on the couch…bullet post!

*My new favorite blog.  If you don’t find it funny, we can’t be friends.

*I’m wondering why a student was labeled SLD (specific learning disability), when he so clearly is ED (emotionally disturbed).  He has been in my room for a sum total of 4 days, but he has already thrown a table, chairs, books, pencils, papers, clipboards, threatened to kill my students, etc.  You name it, he’s done it.  And it’s only March 31st.  I’m supposed to deal with this child until June 3rd.  AND!  At his last school, he assaulted a teacher among other things and he’s out of suspension days.  We really aren’t supposed to suspend him.  Awesome.  How many days of school left?

*I’m also wondering why they changed the label from SBH (severe emotional handicap) to ED (emotional disturbance).  ED is featured on Viagra ads.  Ed should not be used in conjunction with little children.  IMHO.

*I’m wondering why men have this obsessive need to have THE BIGGEST TIRES ON THE PLANET.  Because, you know, we do lots of off-roading in our household.  We NEED those expensive, gihugic mud tires.  Right.

*I’m proud of myself because I made a goal not to buy anything for myself for the month of March and I almost made it.  I needed interview clothes for my in-district interview Monday so I bought an outfit and while I was at Target, I ran across a shirt that I wanted, so I bought it too.  I don’t feel bad.  If you don’t buy it the moment you see it, when you go back it won’t exist.  If you shop at Target, you know what I mean.  (P.S. I didn’t get the job.  Their loss.  I would have been amazing)

*I am so excited for tomorrow I can’t stand it.  Above mentioned behavior student is not allowed to come, we have awards ceremony in the morning and PEAK free party in the afternoon.  Day is easy.  Sweet!  And then?  And then it’s Spring Break!  Yay me!

Hopefully I will be better about blogging next week since I’m on Spring Break.  But so far I have plans to:
*go to the gynocologist about my angry uterus
*go play Little Big Planet with my friend and his three month old
*go to COSI with my friend and her two kids (maybe) since I got us FREE tickets!
*go to the zoo with friend and her two kids, and maybe my friend’s three month old if I happen to babysit for them
*go to Springfield to meet my mom for lunch and crafty-ness

Whew!  Spring break is full!  Besides all of that I will hopefully do a lot of sleeping and book reading!  Enjoy your weekend everyone!!!

Why o why?

Why can I not find a cute, sexy, colorful dress for an August wedding? I have found three that I like but…one apparently isn’t in an appropriate fabric and the other one is black and the third one has the possibility of being all kinds of wrong. I just want something cute! And colorful!

Things of note today…

1. We are officially Bowling League Champions this year! Every year in the past I have come in dead last, but this year we are the winners!

2. Wishing I didn’t have to wait until Saturday to see my parent’s new puppy.

3. Wondering how disappointed I’m going to be when I check the scale to see if it’s accurate and find out that it is. I still stand by the fact that if I had gained five pounds since I bought these jeans, they would no longer fit.

4. Why is it so damn hard to find a wedding appropriate dress that isn’t black and white? I just want some color people!

5. I’m sad that agility is canceled on Friday due to the instructor being out of town. BUT! Noah and I built weave poles and a jump (we’re working on the second jump) to practice with.

6. There are six school days until Spring Break!

Goals update

So my two running goals for this summer season were:

1. Run a 5k in approx 30 minutes which is a 10:00/mile pace. Tonight I ran a 3 mile loop in exactly 30 minutes. So goal #1 accomplished.

2. Complete the Columbus 10k (6.2 miles) without walking. Tuesday night I ran 7 miles in approximately a 10:30/mile pace. Goal #2 accomplished.

New goals? Not sure yet! Maybe new goal will be to run, no walking, the half marathon with Noah in October. I know that I said I had no desire to ever run that far, but….my mileage just keeps increasing so I need to keep challenging myself.

Question is, how did I manage to GAIN 2 pounds when I ran 13 miles last week? That’s 1430 calories just burned by running. That’s almost 1/2 a pound by itself and I KNOW I didn’t eat that poorly….time for a new scale?

shiny! new!

I was going to write a post in honor of the cats today.  Don’t want them to feel left out after I posted for Satchel but…then I bought this!

I bought a Casio Exilim five years ago when I got my first extra teaching check and it’s busted.  It’s been busted.  It won’t let me get the battery out of it to charge it and honestly, it’s just a crappy camera.  The pictures it produces are not great, they are really noisy.  So today we bought me a Canon PowerShot 90.  We’ve been doing research for a little over a week now trying to decide what was the best camera for our money and we definitely blew the budget on this one.  But it’s got all the controllable features Mr. Photographer cares about, and it’s small enough and easy enough for me to use.  I’ll be picture happy in no time!

Ode to Satchel

Noah bought Satchel and I dog agility lessons on Friday nights.  Satchel and I are having a ball!  Loving it!  So on the way to agility tonight I had an idea for a post titled, Things the Dog Likes.  So here goes.

Things the Dog Likes:
*venison sausage
*cat toys
*cat sh*t
*cat food
*eating the cat’s face
*napping on the couch, or really anywhere
*hanging out in the bathtub

Things the Dog Doesn’t Like:
*lightening and thunder
*dogs that are bigger than he is
*many hard dog treats and biscuits
